About the Role

The Project Manager succeeds by identifying project objectives, creating a master plan to achieve those objectives, and implementing the plan through artful direction of the entire project team. The PM works through all opportunities, hurdles, and complexity encountered along the way in a straight-forward, clear and collaborative manner.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Coordinate efficient execution of project design, regulatory approvals, document production, and obtain timely client decisions for all facets of the project
  • Establish and manage project, schedule, internal budgets, staffing needs, and client contracts.
  • Manage client relationships and serve as their primary daily contact.
  • Responsible for project’s five key success factors: program, budget, schedule, quality, and sustainability.
  • Effectively lead a project team and mentor junior employees in project management.
  • Collaborate remotely with other team members in the Seattle office as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree required
  • Pennsylvania State License preferred
  • 7-10 years of experience
  • Previous multi-family residential experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to create, understand and manage a project schedule
  • Ability to identify the critical path for a specific project and to marshal team resources toward the completion of that critical path
  • Ability to perceive holistic project requirements and to prioritize and coordinate individual tasks within that framework
  • Knowledge of the local land use and building permit processes
  • Knowledge of typical construction methodologies and constructability concerns
  • Understanding of typical terms found in owner / architect agreements and contracts
  • Ability to work efficiently, with clarity and focus on project objectives
  • Understanding of client concerns and objectives, and demonstrated ability to successfully address them
  • This position will require the ability to work in a document production capacity when necessary, therefore a high level of proficiency in REVIT is requiredand AutoCAD desired.
  • Knowledge of Sketch-Up, InDesign and Photoshop a plus

About the Role

The Full Charge Bookkeeper is responsible for full-cycle accounting, which requires an ability to juggle several organizational tasks at once, including managing all aspects of general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, as well as handling payroll information, credit card statements, and cash flow.  A bachelors degree in accounting, business, or finance, as well as advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required.  Extensive experience with payroll, financial statements, bank reconciliation, general bookkeeping, and Deltek Ajera accounting system is highly preferred.

We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on, detail-oriented, work bearing much responsibility, typical of full charge bookkeeping, and who has the ability to present information to owners and coworkers clearly and succinctly.  The Full Charge Bookkeeper must be able to define problems distinctly, collect data accurately, establish reliable facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Work with Project Managers to produce monthly invoices and monitor the timely payment for company services.
  • Process company payroll (non-exempt, exempt, commissions, expenses).
  • Work with the Operations Director and our outside accountant to produce monthly P&L report, balance sheet, and other financial reports, such as quarterly Board financial reports.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years full charge bookkeeping or accounting in professional services firm, required.
  • A minimum 2-year degree in accounting, business, or finance, is required.
  • Advanced capabilities in MS Word and Excel is required.
  • Relevant experience with online payroll processing software (e.g., ADP or Paychex), is required.
  • Extensive experience with payroll, financial statements, bank reconciliation, general bookkeeping
  • Knowledge of integrated accounting and project management software, such as Deltek Ajera, is highly preferred
  • Proven attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills is required.
  • Good sense of humor, personable and team player attitude is required.
  • Comfort with and aptitude for technology preferred.

About the Role

Our project teams typically consist of a Project Manager, Project Architect, and one or more Staff Architects and Interns.  The Project Architect coordinates the architectural design process and creates project documents that meets the client’s and the firm’s objectives in terms of program, architectural composition, building performance, buildability, consultant coordination, and code compliance.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Coordinate the production of high quality project documents from schematic design and construction documents through construction administration, as well as specifications and other documentation in collaboration with the project manager and under the direction of the principal in charge.
  • Manage the work of staff architects and interns in the production of those documents.
  • Coordinate3 the work of other design professionals with the architectural documents.
  • Interact with clients as directed by the principal or project manager.
  • Collaborate with other team members in satellite offices.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree required.
  • 5-8 years of experience in all project phases.
  • Previous experience with multi-family projects is strongly preferred.
  • Well versed in all building systems including exterior envelope, structural, and MEP.
  • Thorough knowledge of IBC codes.
  • Proven experience in delivering complete, well-coordinated construction documents including specifications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, understand and execute project priorities, and provide intelligent feedback is critical.
  • High level of proficiency in REVIT is required, and AutoCAD desired.
  • Sketch-Up, InDesign and Photoshop knowledge a plus.

About the Role

As our Low Energy Building Systems Engineer you will touch every project in the firm, and will be working daily with a team of other designers dedicated to creating net-zero-ready buildings. You will have the opportunity to grow our Mechanical Engineering Practice in the Pacific NW (Seattle office) and in the Mid-Atlantic regions (Pittsburgh office). The atmosphere is energetic, creative, and collaborative, where new ideas become reality.

Generally, the focus of this job is on achieving results which are aligned with the larger picture of the organization and its strategic goals. Initiative, coupled with a sense of competitive drive, and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions, is the key to achieving the performance objectives of this job. The job requires getting things done quickly and handling a variety of activities. Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Energy design to include DOE2, eQuest, Energy Pro and IES VE modeling software.
  • Design and modeling of Low Energy Heat and Energy Recovery Ventilation systems.
  • Design and modeling of Low Energy Domestic Hot Water delivery systems.
  • Design and specification of integrated building systems that deliver very low life cycle cost results and are simple to operate.
  • Energy modeling with the Passive House Planning Package (PHPP) required, and additionally with the WUFI-Passive building modeling software preferred.
  • Energy modeling that meets LEED and Built Green criteria preferred.
  • Understanding of electrical control systems required, and ability to design and specify electrical control and monitoring systems preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Licensed in one or more jurisdictions, with a Washington State License preferred
  • 7 to 10 years of experience
  • Multi-family project experience
  • Experience managing engineering document production (in CAD or Revit) by others.
