House to Home

Seattle

House to Home saved this 1923 Craftsman house from demolition by moving it several blocks from its original West Seattle site to make way for a new multi-family project. Reuse was the most green option because it reduced waste and the need for additional resources for new construction at the new location. NK designed a mother-in-law suite and garage in the space enclosed by the new foundation. The existing rooms were restored using classic detailing, and the attic was expanded to accommodate a new master bedroom suite.
