Office Principal – Pittsburgh

We are currently accepting applications for a Principal in Charge of our Pittsburgh office.

Reporting to the CEO and serving as a member of the firm’s management team, the Pittsburgh Office Principal is responsible for NK’s practice management and contributes to the development of its strategic goals. The Principal will implement firm operational policies and procedures, enhance project quality and performance, develop our people, and deliver increased profitability.

Duties & Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Direct operations of the firm’s Pittsburgh office.
  • Lead business development activities.
  • Liaison to firm administrative, accounting, marketing &PR, HR, and IT resources.
  • Contribute to the strategic plan and its execution.
  • Promote a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and commitment to quality.
  • Evaluate and enhance project performance in terms of design, documentation, and profitability.
  • Coordinate project staffing & assignments.
  • Recruit and develop top talent into the PGH office.

Qualifications

  • Practice Group leadership role and proven track record in professional architecture practice, required.
  • Commitment to people, strong EQ, and follow-through, required.
  • Professional Architectural degree (B.Arch or M.Arch), required.
  • Mid-size firm ($5M-25M) level of experience and complexity, preferred.
  • Multi-office experience, preferred.
  • Experience developing and launching new service lines and new geographies, preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to creating high-performance, low-energy buildings, preferred.
  • Consultative approach demonstrated by asking good questions, driving to key issues, communicating goals and key outcomes, and inspiring confidence.
  • Strong communicator (internally and externally) on vision and details.
  • Make commitments and keep them as a leader.

Location

Pittsburgh, PA. (6101 Penn Ave, East Liberty neighborhood).  Some travel required.
